Four lion cubs, born to Kim and Singh on the 10th June 1971 met visitors for the first

Four lion cubs, born to Kim and Singh on the 10th June 1971 met visitors for the first time on the lawn at London Zoo.
The cubs, one male and three females have been named Leon, Leonie, Lottie and Liza. and until their appearance they have been living with their mother Kim, in a den in the Lion House.
Kim is a very good mother, and has previously reared one litter of two cubs, one litter of four cubs, and two litters of five cubs. This us therefore her fifth litter, and the cubs on show are her 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th offspring.
Kim came to the Zoo in November 1960 at the age of four months, and Singh in 1961 at the age of two years. Left to right Cubs Leon, Leonie, Lottie and Liza 4th August 1971

Adorable Lion Cubs Make Their Debut at London Zoo in 1971

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this heartwarming photo print, we witness a momentous occasion as four lion cubs, born to proud parents Kim and Singh on June 10th, 1971, step out onto the lush green lawn of London Zoo for the very first time. The cubs, consisting of one male named Leon and three females named Leonie, Lottie, and Liza, captivate visitors with their irresistible cuteness. Prior to this public appearance, these precious cubs had been living with their nurturing mother Kim in a cozy den within the Lion House. Kim has proven herself to be an exceptional mother over the years. This litter marks her fifth successful delivery after raising two litters of two cubs each and two litters of five cubs each. These remarkable little ones are her 17th through 20th offspring. Kim arrived at the zoo in November 1960 when she was just four months old while Singh joined her in 1961 at the age of two years. Together they have formed a strong family unit that continues to bring joy to both staff and visitors alike. This photograph by George Greenwell captures a timeless moment from the early '70s—a testament to nature's beauty and our fascination with these majestic creatures.
