Gentle giant Geoff Capes, the strongest man in the world

Gentle giant Geoff Capes, the strongest man in the world, came to Huddersfield today to give a big lift to handicapped children at Holly Bank School. Britains own man mountain took time off from his role as Genie of the Lamp in Aladdin at Halifaxs Civic Theatre to hand over the keys of a special, purpose-built coach on behalf of ICIs Huddersfield works. The company has donated the £ 22, 000 17-seater vehicle, which the school will use for trips all over this country and abroad. Its special features include a hydraulic tail lift, heaters and wheelchair storage space. Mr Trevor Hodkinson, headmaster at Holly Bank, said: " It is a tremendous gift. The coach is spacious and luxuriously fitted and will allow us to take out large numbers of children in comfort. This is the first stage of a link between the school and ICI, which will be of great benefit to our community." 23rd January 1986

This 17-seater vehicle will serve as a means for these special children to embark on trips across our beautiful country and even abroad. Its unique features include a hydraulic tail lift for easy accessibility, heaters for comfort during colder days, and ample storage space for wheelchairs.
