In this nostalgic print from May 1987, we are introduced to the dynamic duo of Coventry City football club, otherwise known as "The Two Degrees". On the left stands Cyrille Regis, a legendary player renowned for his skill and athleticism. And on the right is Dave Bennett, another talented member of the team who perfectly complements Regis' abilities. With their undeniable talent on the field, these two players have become synonymous with Coventry City's success during that era. However, they also possess a playful side off the pitch. In preparation for their FA Cup Finals match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday May 16th, Regis and Bennett decided to put their own spin on things. Instead of adopting Liverpool FC's famous anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" which is traditionally sung by many football clubs across England, The Two Degrees opted for something different. They took inspiration from Chas and Dave – a popular musical duo at that time – and created their own rendition. This photograph captures Regis and Bennett in studio attire; wearing flat caps adorned with rosettes representing Coventry City.
