A RAF search and rescue Sea King helicopter from RAF Boulmer lands at Richardson Road, Newcastle, near the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
The helicopter had picked up casualties from the Otterburn range where three men had been killed by a mortar bomb at 11.15am, 2 others were seriously injured and several others hurt. The men were from 43 Commando Royal Marines based at Arbroath.
