Beer Cheers Sky Blues

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this nostalgic photo print, we see Jimmy Hill, the esteemed manager of Coventry City Football Club, enjoying a moment of camaraderie at "The Sky Blue" pub in Coventry. Formerly known as "The Nugget Inn" the pub underwent a name change after it was leased by the football club. The local licensing justices were quick to approve the new name upon learning about its association with the beloved team. Dating back to the previous century, this historic establishment boasts four spacious bars and holds a special place in Coventry's heart. It is said that beer was once served from a humble cottage on this very site. On this particular day, Mr. Hill and his players gathered around to witness an exciting event: their club chairman, Mr. Derrick Robins, pulling the first round of drinks. Capturing the essence of 1960s football culture and community spirit, this image evokes memories of cheers echoing through crowded pubs as fans passionately supported their favorite teams. Mirrorpix brings us yet another captivating glimpse into our past with this remarkable photograph – reminding us all that sports have always had an incredible power to unite people and create lasting memories.
