EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming print from November 1969, we see the determined and compassionate Kim Fentiman at the age of 12. After reading about dockers organizing a whip-round for Prince Phillip, young Kim couldn't help but wonder why something similar couldn't be done for the Queen herself. With her innocent yet ambitious spirit, she approached her father, Mr. Sid Fentiman, to seek his support in organizing a charity show for Her Majesty. Mr. Fentiman, who was the licensee of the Hanover Arms in Peckham, South London, wasted no time and called upon Mr. Frankie Dunn to make Kim's dream a reality. And so it began - preparations were underway for an unforgettable event that would bring joy not only to Kim but also to countless others. On this particular sunny day captured by Mirrorpix's lens (Z11061-002), we witness Kim and her friends embarking on their noble mission in a beautifully decorated 3-ton lorry headed towards Buckingham Palace. Their voices filled with enthusiasm and hope as they prepared to serenade Her Majesty outside her royal residence. Accompanied by a talented pianist playing on a grand piano at the back of the truck, everyone involved is eager to make this charity show an extraordinary success. In this moment frozen in time forever, Frankie Dunn checks over musical scores with little Karl (Kim's brother), Diana Kett and our spirited protagonist herself. This photograph encapsulates not only an act of kindness from
