Musicus Collection

Musicus is a genus of small, terrestrial mammals in the family Sciuridae, and are found in North America, Central America, and South America. The genus includes five species: the Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis), the Western Gray Squirrel (Sciurus griseus), the Red Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger), the Northern Flying Squirrel (Glaucomys sabrinus), and the Southern Flying Squirrel (Glaucomys volans). Musicus mammals are diurnal animals that feed on nuts, fruits, fungi, and other plant material. They also eat insects such as caterpillars and grasshoppers. Musicus squirrels are active during daylight hours and build nests in trees or underground burrows for shelter. They have a unique ability to leap from tree to tree using their long tails for balance. These animals play an important role in maintaining healthy forests by dispersing seeds through their droppings which helps promote new growth of vegetation.
