The Stanhope Gold Medal of the Royal Humane Society, awarded to WPC Lesley Moore, Charing Cross Division, Metropolitan Police, London in January 1992, for showing great courage in helping a workman who had fallen 50 feet onto a sloping roof in Ryder Street SW1. Despite the dangerous location, Moore gave First Aid and resuscitation in strong winds, and used her tunic as a pillow for the injured man. After about an hour the Fire Brigade were able to secure the man and take him to hospital. Sadly, he died some days later. Date: circa 1992
