Born in Sorrento, Italy, in 1544, Tasso's early life was marked by a deep love for poetry and the arts. He was educated at the University of Bologna and later at the Court of Ferrara, where he began to write his magnum opus, "Gerusalemme Liberata," which he completed in 1574.
