Born in 1871 in Pokrovskoye, Siberia, Maria was the third of Rasputin's six children with his wife, Praskovia Sabanova. Rasputin gained notoriety in Russia during the early 20th century for his alleged healing abilities and his close relationship with the Romanov royal family.
