Delivered to the RAF on the 18th of October that same year, this particular Wessex helicopter was a significant addition to the British military's aviation fleet. The Westland Wessex HC.2 is a versatile, twin-engine, multi-role helicopter, which entered service with the RAF in 1963. Its advanced design and capabilities made it an invaluable asset for search and rescue, transport, and maritime operations.
