Originally manufactured as a military trainer in 1945, this aircraft, identified by its serial number 43-28204, underwent a significant transformation in 1953 when it was converted into a TB-25N. After serving in the military, N9856C was sold on the civilian market in 1957. Its new owner repurposed it for firefighting duties, harnessing its power and versatility to protect communities from the devastating effects of wildfires. The aircraft's next chapter began in 1968 when it was acquired by Filmways, Inc, a production company. It was employed in the filming of the critically acclaimed movie "Catch-22," providing aerial footage that brought the story to life on the silver screen. In 1971, N9856C was sold to Tallmantz Aviation in California. Undergoing restoration by Aero Traders, the Mitchell bomber was marked as PBJ-1J *Pacific Princess*. Today, this iconic aircraft remains airworthy, continuing to captivate aviation enthusiasts and filmmakers alike.
