The historic pub, with its distinctive red-brick facade and ornate signage, once stood proudly at 285-287 Victoria Park Road, E2 9FA. The image, taken prior to its destruction, showcases the pub's inviting atmosphere and its connection to the vibrant community of Victoria Park. The back of the print reveals the rich history of the Park Hotel, detailing its trading record from 1913 to 1940. Sadly, the pub met its end on 19 March 1941, when it was destroyed by enemy action during World War II. The Charrington and Company Limited, a well-known name in the brewing industry at the time, owned and operated the pub. The Park Hotel was more than just a public house or a 'boozer' – it was a local gathering place, a 'bar' where friends and neighbors could meet, share stories, and create memories. The pub's history is a testament to the resilience of the community, which continues to thrive in the heart of Victoria Park.
