Little Red Riding Hood
Promotional postcard for Little Red Riding Hood at the Queen Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham for 1908-9. This postcard advertises the impresario Lester Collingwood more than the pantomime. Collingwood was a flamboyant personality who sported a magnificent moustache. He had extensive theatre experience and was particularly associated with melodrama. Many theatres at the time had a royal connection, and Collingwood bowed to tradition by renaming the theatre to honour Queen Alexandra. He is shown here between past and future ships named Collingwood. Date: 1908
