Her husband's father, 1st Viscount Wimborne, passed away in 1914, and Ivor inherited the title and the role of Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in 1915. Lady Alice served as the Vicereine until her husband's death in 1929. She passed away on March 28, 1948.
