A menu card designed by Mr Leighton Ward for a menu for a send-off supper to the Cape Squadron of the Royal Horse Guards given at Hyde Park Barracks on 27 November 1899 before their departure for South Africa to fight in the Second Boer War. Delicacies on offer were South-African themed from Mafeking Mutton to Pretoria pheasants.
