The Still Alarm by Joseph Arthur
Promotional postcard for The Still Alarm by Joseph Arthur. (fourteenth Street Theatre, New York, 30th July 1887). First produced in England Princesss Theatre, 2nd August 1888. The play was famous in its day for the arrival on stage of a horse-drawn fire engine. The nearer of two horses has leapt out of a stall, the entrance to which, left, has Bucephalus, the name of Alexander the Greats favourite horse, carved on it. Date: circa 1888
