This photograph captures the enchanting Italian opera singer, Luisa Tetrazzini, in the prime of her career in 1909. Born in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, in 1871, Tetrazzini's plump figure and powerful voice quickly gained her recognition in the world of opera. By the early 1900s, Tetrazzini had become an international sensation, touring Europe and the United States.
