Kira, the daughter of Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and Grand Prince Kirill Vladimirovich of Russia, married Louis Ferdinand, the second son of the Crown Prince of Prussia and grandson of Kaiser Wilhelm II, in a lavish ceremony held in the same year.
