Born on October 12, 1827, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Keddie began her literary career in the 1850s, writing poetry and short stories for various publications. However, she gained widespread acclaim for her work in children's literature, penning over 100 books that continue to enchant readers to this day. One of her most popular works, "The Fairy Bower," was first published in 1855 and has since been reprinted numerous times.
