Nansen warned Jackson off making an attempt for the North Pole and Jackson was happy to look after Nansens tired group and convey them back to safety

Frederick Jackson and his companions of the Jackson-Harmsworth Polar Expedition are seen with their ice-boat, Mary Harmsworth, at Elmwood. The expedition had set out with the ambitious goal of reaching the North Pole, but their plans were altered when they encountered Fridtjhof Nansen and his tired group from the Fram expedition.
Nansen, a seasoned explorer himself, warned Jackson against attempting to reach the pole due to dangerous conditions. Instead of forging ahead with their original plan, Jackson graciously agreed to look after Nansen's group and safely convey them back to base camp.
