Mary E. Butler is an artist and art educator living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts, a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Francisco State University, and has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. Her artwork is inspired by her love for nature and her passion for creating art that speaks to people's emotions. She works in mixed media, including painting, drawing, collage, photography, sculpture and installation. Her work often reflects on themes of identity and belonging as well as social justice issues such as immigration reform, and is an active member of several professional organizations including Women's Caucus for Art (WCA), National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA).
