Sotherans Bookshop in 1903 BL17585

Sotherans Bookshop in 1903 BL17585
The interior of Sotherans Bookshop on Piccadilly, City of Westminster, London. Henry Sotheran's is the oldest trading antiquarian bookshop in Britain and quite probably the world. It was founded in York in 1761 and established premises in London in 1815. Trade directories for the 1890s record the company trading at 36 Piccadilly, but by 1908 they were at number 37 Piccadilly. The shop is now based in Sackville Street. Photographed in April 1903 by Henry Bedford Lemere.
