This print showcases a patch that holds immense historical significance - the Patch for the International Lawn Tennis Club of the United States, dating back to 1980. The creator of this remarkable piece remains unknown, but its value lies in commemorating an extraordinary individual who shattered barriers and left an indelible mark on tennis history. Althea Gibson, a trailblazing African-American athlete, achieved a groundbreaking feat in 1956 by becoming the first person of color to win a Grand Slam title at the French Championships.
