The artist behind this remarkable piece is Lock & Whitfield, renowned for their ability to capture the essence and character of their subjects. Woodford's distinguished career began when he received a Doctorate in Divinity in 1869. His dedication to his faith led him to be appointed as one of the queen's chaplains in 1872.
