The International Exhibition - Wallpaper by Messrs. John Woollams and Co. 1862. Creator: Unknown
The International Exhibition - Wallpaper by Messrs. John Woollams and Co. 1862....large damask pattern...in the mediaeval style, and, while founded on a geometrical basis, is without a decided geometrical form, the general shape being given by the spaces left between the repeating ornament. The forms are quaint yet bold, and are made out in green and maroon on a yellow-buff ground, damasked with gold. This is a work of considerable merit, and is well calculated for exhibition through its magnitude, yet it is a mere type of the excellent patterns in this class which the firm that produced it is known so liberally to provide'.
