The Hon. Artillery Company of London Practising with the Rifle at Seaford, Sussex, 1858. A detachment of the Honourable Artillery Company of London...has been for some days past stationed at Seaford, Sussex, for the purpose of drill and ball practice. The party has now returned, having gone through a course of instruction with great satisfaction and precision...By permission of the War Office, the detachment had the use of the Fort at Seaford, and, as a magazine was within it, excellent means were at hand for storing the ammunition; besides this, the Fort afforded ample room for the arms'.
