EDITORS COMMENTS

This print showcases Anthony Trollope, one of the most esteemed Victorian novelists. Taken in 1878 by Lock & Whitfield, this colorized black and white portrait captures Trollope's essence as a distinguished writer. Known for his remarkable series of novels set in the fictional county of Barsetshire, Trollope gained immense recognition through works such as "The Warden" (1855), "Barchester Towers" (1857), and "The Last Chronicle of Barset" (1867). In addition to his tales set in Barsetshire, Trollope also delved into political narratives with novels like "Phineas Finn" (1869) and "The Eustace Diamonds" (1873).
