Shikra (Accipitridae Accipitriformes) is a small bird of prey found in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia and has a long tail, short wings and a hooked bill. Its plumage is mostly grey with white underparts and yellow eyes. It feeds mainly on small birds, lizards, rodents, insects and other invertebrates, and are be found in open woodlands or grasslands near water sources such as rivers or lakes, and are solitary hunters that use surprise attacks to capture their prey.
