Gandhi's Salt March, also known as the Dandi March, was a significant act of civil disobedience against the British Salt Act of 1882. This law granted a monopoly to the British East India Company to manufacture and sell salt, effectively denying the Indian population their right to produce and sell salt for their own needs. By breaking the Salt Laws, Gandhi aimed to challenge the British authority and galvanize the Indian people to join the freedom struggle.
