Throughout history, these dedicated individuals have faced both triumphs and tragedies while caring for exotic creatures from around the world. In 1882, The Galibis Indians captivated audiences at the Paris Zoological Garden exhibition. This mesmerizing poster depicted their unique culture alongside magnificent animals, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between humans and wildlife. However, not all encounters were harmonious. In 1891, tragedy struck when a young maid took her own life by leaping into a bear den in Frankfurt am Main. This haunting engraving serves as a reminder that even within captivity, emotions can run deep. Yet amidst such somber moments emerged heartwarming scenes of connection. An endearing lithograph from 1880 showcases a mischievous monkey playfully pulling on his keeper's nose. These bonds formed between caretakers and creatures demonstrate an extraordinary level of trust and affection. The Jardin des Plantes rotunda in Paris stands as an iconic symbol of zoological marvels dating back to circa 1810. Its grandeur represents not only architectural brilliance but also mankind's insatiable curiosity about Earth's diverse inhabitants. Twin Sisters Jennifer and Christine Wells made history with their visit to London Zoo on December 10th, 1956. A black-and-white photograph immortalizes this momentous occasion when two young girls stood awestruck before majestic animals – embodying innocence meeting untamed beauty. Unfortunately, danger sometimes lurks within these animal sanctuaries. In Monfalcone, chaos erupted as three lions unexpectedly attacked an orderly working diligently in their presence – leaving him seriously injured but reminding us that wild instincts cannot be entirely subdued. The dramas continued with another chilling incident captured in color lithography - a barber tragically killed by a lion while shaving a tamer inside the fair cage.
