In another sighting of an adult female Hogna radiata in Follonica, Grosseto Province, we witnessed a close-up of its head as it fed on grasshopper prey. The precision and agility displayed by this predator were awe-inspiring. Moving to England's coastal sand dunes in May, an adult Sand Wolfspider named Arctosa perita was observed gracefully navigating its sandy habitat at Hengistbury Head, Dorset. Its ability to blend into the environment showcased nature's remarkable camouflage skills. The Nursery-web Spider (Pisaura mirabilis) made appearances across different locations in England throughout the year. An adult basking on a leaf at Crossness Nature Reserve demonstrated tranquility amidst nature's beauty while carrying an egg sac on a leaf showed the dedication of an adult female spider at Leicestershire during July. At Attenborough Nature Reserve during resting moments for males or waiting for unsuspecting prey among long grasses at Crossness Nature Reserve and Bexley Kent England may be where you spot Field Wolfspiders (Pardosa agrestis) or Pond Pirate Wolfspiders (Pirata piraticus). Further explorations took us to Ukraine where we encountered an adult female Russian Wolfspider named Lycosa singoriensis defending her burrow with unwavering determination even during November when most creatures seek shelter from the cold.
