Watercolor, a medium that has captured the beauty and essence of various subjects throughout history. From the delicate strokes of Albrecht Durer's "Hare" in 1502 during the Renaissance to Louis Choris' depiction of an Aleut hunter in 1816 wearing a wooden peaked hat in the Bering Sea, watercolor has been used to bring life to diverse scenes. In Boston, on December 16, 1773, John Johnson immortalized the Green Dragon Tavern where plans for the infamous Boston Tea Party were made. The day was forever marked by his watercolor painting. Similarly, "The Milkmaid" created with pencil and watercolor in 1902 showcases everyday life through this captivating medium. Traveling across continents, we find ourselves peeping at a train passing through India in 1892. This glimpse into another world is masterfully portrayed using pencil and watercolor on paper.
