Vaucluse is a commune in the southeastern part of France, located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south and east, and by the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône to the west and Var to the north. The commune covers an area of over 1,000 square kilometers and has a population of around 30,000 people. Vaucluse is known for its picturesque landscapes, with rolling hills covered in vineyards and olive groves. The area is also home to numerous historical sites such as Avignon Palace, Châteauneuf du Pape Castle, Fontaine de Vaucluse spring and Mont Ventoux mountain. The commune also boasts several beautiful beaches along its coastline that attract visitors from all over Europe during summer months. The local economy relies heavily on tourism as well as agriculture; wine production being one of its main industries. Other important sectors include fishing and food processing industries which are based mainly around Aix en Provence city center.
