The Louisville Lip, Muhammad Ali, is one of the most iconic figures in sports history. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 17th 1942, Ali began boxing at the age of 12 and went on to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. He was known for his quick wit and brashness outside the ring as well as his lightning fast reflexes and powerful punches inside it. His career spanned over two decades and he fought some of the greatest boxers of all time including Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Sonny Liston. He was also an outspoken advocate for civil rights during a turbulent time in American history. After retiring from boxing in 1981, Ali continued to be an inspiration to millions around the world through his philanthropic work with organizations such as Special Olympics International and Parkinson's Disease research foundations. His legacy will live on forever as one of the greatest athletes ever to have graced this earth.
