It required a 17-man crew, first flew in September 1917, and was delivered to the RNAS Airship Station at Pulham in Norfolk the same month. Found to be overweight, it was mainly employed on training duties. Seen here is the R 23 being 'walked' at Pulham. Date: circa 1917
