Traveling through Bandera, Texas, USA, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, I came across this quaint store with a chalkboard sign advertising fresh pickles. The rustic charm of this street scene brought me back to the vibrant markets of Europe, reminiscent of St. Pancras Station in London or the East Side Jews of Maryland's Annapolis. But the sign's simple elegance also reminded me of the corner pawnbroker in Prague's Old Town Square or the bakery in Quimper, France.
