Speedway is a form of motorsport that involves racing on oval tracks, and is one of the most popular forms of motorsport in Europe and Australia, and has been around for over 100 years. Speedway races involve two or more riders competing against each other on bikes with no brakes, which are powered by 500cc engines. The bikes have no gears, so riders must use their skill to control the speed and cornering ability of their machines. The aim of the race is to complete a set number of laps in the fastest time possible. Speedway events often take place at purpose-built stadiums or arenas, with seating for thousands of spectators who come to watch the action-packed races unfold. Races usually last between four and eight laps, depending on track length and rider experience level. Riders must be highly skilled in order to navigate tight corners at high speeds while avoiding contact with other riders or obstacles on the track surface. The sport has seen an increase in popularity over recent years due to its exciting nature and competitive spirit among riders who strive for glory on every lap they take around the track. With its thrilling atmosphere both inside and outside stadiums, it's easy to see why speedway continues to draw large crowds from all over Europe each year.
