Lily Elsie and Bobby Howes in a scene from musical comedy The Blue Train, playing at the Prince of Wales's Theatre in 1927 and marking a return to the stage of Lily Elsie after ten years. The play, written by Reginald Arkell and Dion Titheradge, centred on the famous Blue Train that transported the well-heeled to fashionable resorts on the French Riviera and beyond. Date: 1927

Promotional postcard for The Mummy and the Humming Bird by Isaac Henderson. First produced at Wyndhams Theatre, 10th October 1901. Lord Lumley gestures from his lighted upper window to Giuseppe, the young organ grinder, to come up. This happens in Act I, but the scene is Lord Lumleys flat, so the artist has imagined what it would have looked like from the street. Date: circa 1901
