Formula One World Championship: In the world of high-speed racing, every detail matters. From the spare Lotus 76's taped-on air ducts at the 1992 South African GP to the advanced sidepod designs of the BMW Sauber F1.09 and Mclaren Mercedes MP4-24, these components have played pivotal roles in the competition's history. The huge sidepods on the Lotus 76 were tested at the 1992 Monaco GP in an attempt to cure a tendency for the car to overheat.
