"RIC200: A Year of Celebrations at the Royal Cornwall Museum" In a momentous visit, the Duke of Cornwall graced the Royal Cornwall Museum on 22nd March 2018 to commemorate the bicentenary year of the esteemed Royal Institution of Cornwall. The museum, nestled in River Street, Truro, witnessed an enchanting display as Christmas lights adorned its facade on 22nd November 2018. The RIC200 Events Board stood proudly within the museum's walls on 28th February 2018, showcasing a plethora of captivating exhibitions and activities. One such exhibition was "World Wide Wonders, " which captivated visitors from near and far starting from 4th March 2018. Amidst these grand celebrations, a delectable centerpiece stole the show - a magnificent cake crafted specifically for the bicentenary celebration of the Royal Institution of Cornwall. On 5th February 2018, this culinary masterpiece delighted all who laid eyes upon it within the hallowed halls of the Royal Cornwall Museum. Not limited to its own premises alone, this iconic institution extended its reach beyond Truro's borders. At Whitecross in Wadebridge on June 8th, during one glorious day at the renowned Royal Cornwall Showground, both an activity table and trade stand were set up by none other than our beloved Royal Cornwall Museum. During his memorable visit to mark this historic milestone for Cornish culture and knowledge preservation on that same fateful day - March 22nd - His Grace explored every corner with great interest. The Treffry Gallery held particular allure for him as he admired its treasures with awe-inspiring reverence. As we reflect upon these remarkable events that unfolded throughout RIC200's celebratory journey at River Street in Truro and beyond into Whitecross in Wadebridge; we are reminded once again why institutions like our cherished Royal Cornwall Museum hold such significance in preserving history while inspiring generations to come.
