This copyright image is held exclusively by TopFoto, the exclusive representative of the late Professor John Hedgecoe. He took the image in 1966, specifically for the creation of the Royal Mail?s stamp, with over 200 billion copies sold so far and counting. Hedgecoe photographed Her Majesty, then Arnold Machin made a plaster cast from the photograph, Hedgecoe then took another photograph, this time of the cast, which has been used on the Royal Mail stamps ever since.
