Promotional postcard of The Follies, a pierrot troupe founded in 1895 by H G Pelissier, also the main performer and director. After Pelissier's early death in 1913, the troupe still toured under the direction of another troupe member Dan Everard. This postcard was promoting the troupe's one-week residency at The Opera House in Northampton from 1st May 1916. Date: 1916

The image is the same as the previous tour with a lady pierrot clown sitting on a large bubble holding a clay pipe, but many of the names of the cast members written in the bubbles are different in this flyer. The additional names are Doris Nowland, Bibi Delabere, Biddy Hay, Kathlene Martyn, R. Barrett-Lennard and Len Norton.The skits include the story of a young man who falls in love with the wrong woman, enacted in different theatrical styles.
