The 2016 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Atlanta Petit Le Mans was a thrilling race that showcased the best of endurance racing. The event, known as Petit Le Mans, is part of the American Le Mans Series and attracts top teams and drivers from around the world. One of the standout moments from this year's race was the impressive performance by Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe in their Penske Porsche RS Spyder. They dominated the LMP2 category, taking home a well-deserved victory. Their skill and teamwork were evident throughout the grueling race. Another notable team was Jorg Bergmeister, Wolf Henzler, and Marc Lieb driving for Flying Lizards Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. They displayed exceptional speed and precision on track, showcasing why they are considered some of the best in their class. Lowes Fernandez Racing Acura ARX-01b also had an impressive showing with drivers Adrian Fernandez, Luis Diaz, and Michel Jourdain behind the wheel. Their consistent performance earned them a respectable position in this highly competitive field. However, it was Allan McNish who stole everyone's attention with his remarkable win after crashing on his way to the grid. Despite starting two laps down due to repairs needed on their Audi car, McNish showed incredible determination and skill to make up lost ground during this challenging race. Other noteworthy performances include Johnny Mowlem representing Corsa Motorsport Zytek 07S and Paul Drayson/Jonny Cocker/Darren Turner driving for Drayson-Barwell Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage. Jaime Melo/Mika Salo from Risi Competizione Ferrari F430 GT also put up an excellent fight against tough competition while Lou Gigliotti/Tomy Drissi/Marc Goossens represented LG Motorsports Chevrolet Riley Corvette C6 with great enthusiasm.
