Kirlian photograph of a pear half
Pear half. Kirlian photograph of half a pear (Pyrus sp.), showing the electromagnetic discharge around its edges. This luminous discharge is the result of high-energy interactions between the pear and a powerful applied electric field. The pear is a fruit native to Europe, but is now cultivated worldwide in cool, humid temperate regions. Pears are a good source of vitamin C, most of the B-complex vitamins and phosphorus.
