Orthodox Jews are a religious group that follows the traditional interpretation and application of Jewish law. They adhere to a strict interpretation of the Torah, which includes observing the Sabbath, keeping kosher dietary laws, and following certain dress codes and can found in many countries around the world and make up about 10 percent of all Jews worldwide. The Orthodox Jewish community is known for its commitment to traditional values and practices. The core beliefs of Orthodox Judaism include belief in one God, observance of Halacha (Jewish law), adherence to Jewish rituals such as prayer services and Shabbat (Sabbath) observance, study of Torah (the five books of Moses), an emphasis on family life, charity towards others, and respect for authority figures such as rabbis. The community also has its own distinct culture with unique customs related to marriage ceremonies, holidays such as Passover or Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles), food preparation methods such as kashrut (keeping kosher), clothing styles including yarmulkes (skullcaps) or tzitzit (fringed garments worn by men). Orthodox Judaism places great importance on education; children attend religious schools where they learn Hebrew language skills along with religious texts like the Talmud or Torah commentaries. In addition to formal education within their communities, many members also participate in outreach programs aimed at educating non-Jews about their faith and culture.
