Norman Kneen: A Celtic Match Race Manx Team Legend With an illustrious career spanning several decades, it has etched his name in the annals of motorcycle racing history. Known for his exceptional skills and unwavering determination, Kneen has left an indelible mark on the sport. In 1978, a young and ambitious Kneen burst onto the scene at the Newcomers Manx Grand Prix riding a Yamaha. His talent was evident as he fearlessly navigated through challenging terrains, earning him recognition among his peers. The following year saw Kneen's rise to prominence continue with a stellar performance at the Junior Manx Grand Prix. Riding yet again on a Yamaha, he showcased his speed and precision, leaving spectators in awe of his abilities. Kneen's success only grew over time. In 1980, he once again dominated the Junior Manx Grand Prix aboard a Yamaha. This victory solidified his status as one of the most promising riders of his generation. However, it was in 1987 that Kneen truly made waves by clinching first place in both the Senior Manx Grand Prix races – one on a Suzuki and another on a Yamaha. This remarkable feat cemented him as an all-round force to be reckoned with. Throughout his career, Kneen continued to push boundaries and achieve remarkable results. In 1996, riding under the banner of Kneenja Kawasaki, he secured victories in both Junior and Senior categories at the prestigious Isle of Man event. Notably versatile across different motorcycles brands such as Honda and Mannin Honda alongside Suzuki and Kawasaki; however it is with Yamaha that Norman seemed to have found great synergy throughout various stages within this incredible journey - from Lightweight races to Juniors or Seniors alike. Norman's legacy extends beyond individual achievements; he also played an integral role in forming the Celtic Match Race Manx Team.
