The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is a historic event that celebrates the rich automotive heritage of the United Kingdom. This captivating journey takes participants on a nostalgic trip from Hyde Park, London to the picturesque coastal town of Brighton. One of the standout vehicles in this year's run was CM21 8057, an impressive 1902 De Dion Bouton. Its sleek design and vintage charm turned heads along the route as it gracefully made its way towards Brighton. Another notable participant was CM21 7563, featuring a one candle power headlight. This unique feature harkened back to an era when car headlights were still in their infancy, showcasing how far automotive technology has come over the years. As the convoy left Hyde Park in London (CM21 8092), excitement filled the air. Spectators lined up along the streets, eagerly awaiting their chance to catch a glimpse of these magnificent antique cars as they embarked on their journey. Amongst them was CM21 7872, a stunning 1903 Darracq that exuded elegance and sophistication. Right beside it was CM21 7861, another beauty from 1903 - this time a De Dietrich model that showcased exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. A true highlight of this year's run was seeing Chris Evans behind the wheel of CM21 7784 - Lodges coach. The renowned television presenter added his own touch of glamour and celebrity status to this already prestigious event. Vintage steam-powered vehicles also took part in this remarkable spectacle. One such example was captured by CM21 7577 - Salvesen steam car; its billowing clouds of steam adding an extra layer of nostalgia to an already enchanting scene. Participants like Mr Doug Hill with his strikingly restored 1903 De Dion Bouton (CM17 1851) demonstrated their passion for preserving automotive history while delighting spectators with every turn they made along Constitution Hill towards Big Ben (CM21 7720).
