The new MK 3 Chopper bike
The new MK 3 Chopper bike which was launched in Nottingham. Raleigh, based in Nottinghamshire halted production of the Chopper model in 1984 but the product later built up a cult following. Prompted by enthusiasts Raleigh spent nine months drawing up designs for a third model Chopper which retains almost all the quirky features of the original.

Qe2 and Qm2
The Queen Mary 2 and The Queen Elizabeth 2 (foreground) arrive into the English Channel past Lizard Point in Cornwall. Both vessels left New York earlier this week, with Americans bidding a fond farewell to the QE2 whose Southampton-New York sailings will now be taken over by the QM2, the world's largest and most expensive liner.

VICTORIA GROUND, Stoke-on-Trent. Aerial view of the former home of Stoke City Football Club. They moved to the Britannia Stadium in 1997. Photographed in 1992 when the Potters under Lou Macari went to the league play-offs and won the Football League Trophy.
