The Victoria Pavilion opened at the Capstone Parade in 1888 and was rebuilt in the 1920s as a concert hall. It was demolished in the 1990s after a storm damaged the building. The Landmark Theatre now stands in its place on the Promenade

A man on a horse is riding up towards the A39 road - behind him is the Allerford stone packhorse bridge over the River Aller. The West Somerset Rural Life Museum and Victorian School lies just around the corner
